Installation and care

A HoneyLamp is easy to live with. Here is what you need to know before you hang it – and afterwards.

Before you start

Electrical work, done safely.

The pendants are wired into a ceiling box and supplied without a plug.

Electrical work that forms part of the fixed installation in a home must follow the rules that apply where you live. If you are unsure what you may do yourself, have the work done by a registered electrical contractor.

Always switch off the circuit at the fuse box before wiring or removing a lamp – not just the switch on the wall.

The table lamp has a cord and plug and goes straight into the socket. It needs no electrician.

Step by step

How to hang the pendant.

  1. Switch off the power

Switch off the circuit at the fuse box and check that the power is off before you open the ceiling box.

  2. Decide the height

Over a dining table the lower edge normally sits 60–70 cm above the tabletop. The cable is 1 metre and can be adjusted when hanging. On some models you can choose an extra-long cable as an option.

  3. Wire it up

Wire the lamp into the ceiling box in line with the applicable rules. If in doubt, let a registered electrical contractor do the job.

  4. Fit the bulb

Use an E27 LED bulb. Maximum 15 W for the pendants and 20 W for the table lamp. We recommend 2200–2700 K to bring out the honey tone. Never use halogen or incandescent bulbs.

  5. Test the light

Switch the power back on. If you want to dim, both the bulb and the dimmer must be rated for LED.

Table lamp comes with a cord and plug and needs no installation beyond fitting the bulb.

Care

Keeping the surface like new.

The surface has a fine texture that gathers a little dust over time. It comes off easily with a dusting brush or a soft, dry cloth.

Marks can be removed with a lightly damp cloth. Avoid detergents, solvents and scouring pads – they can dull the surface.

Can I use a stronger bulb?

No. Never exceed the stated maximum wattage: 15 W for the pendants and 20 W for the table lamp. Use LED – not halogen or incandescent.

Can the lamp be used in a bathroom?

No. HoneyLamp is rated IP20 and is intended for dry indoor rooms only.

What if something is damaged?

Contact us at hei@honeylamp.no with photos. If the damage happened in transit, you must report it as soon as possible. The 2-year warranty applies.

Can I change the cable length myself?

The cable is adjustable when hanging. If you need a substantially different length, choose the long cable option where the model offers it, or contact us before you order.
